Medication Reminder is currently going through a revamp!
Medication Reminders are a specific type of "Tasks & Asks" and are only available to users with a caregiver, organizer or care recipient role. They behave differently in the desktop web application and the native mobile applications. While the feature is going through a revamp, please download one of the native mobile applications (iOS or Android) for the best experience.
This article explains the main characteristics of the feature and highlights the differences between desktop and mobile applications during the revamp.
Feature Overview
You can set up a reminder for any type of medication, for any number of medications as you like.
- Select a medication from our exhaustive list or type in your own. e.g Aspirin etc
- Set the amount per dosage e.g 1 x 5mg tablet, 30ml etc
- Set the start and end dates
- End date is optional
- If no end date is set, the reminder will be set up as a daily reminder, indefinitely
- Set the dosage time
- If you need to take the medicine multiple times a day, set up multiple dosage reminders
- Decide whether the reminder should be visible in the shared calendar or not
- If set to public, the appointment will be visible to your entire team on the shared calendar
- Decide who else on the team should receive notifications about the appointment
- By default, notifications are only sent to you
- You can set it up so that specific people on the team or the whole team are also notified when the medications are due by using the field "Send notification to:"
- Once you save the reminder, the people in the notification list will see an alert (under "Alerts") and will have the option to enable reminders or not, on their own mobile devices.
Reminder notification on native mobile applications (iOS or Android):
By default, you will receive a reminder notification through your iOS or Android device. Your team members that you shared the medication reminder with will need to take an additional step before they also get a notification.
- Go to "alerts", and click on "Enable Reminders"
You and your team members also have the option to add the reminders to your personal calendar.
- View the details of the medication reminder and click on "Add To Personal Calendar"
Finally, you and your users can mute reminders anytime
- View the details of the medication reminder and click on "Mute Reminders"
