What are the different ways I can communicate with my team in ianacare?

ianacare has 2 features around communication:

  • Updates
  • Direct Messages

Updates

  • Posting updates is a great way to keep your team engaged and because the app is private, you can share things that you might not be comfortable posting in a public setting like Facebook like detailed medical news or how you’re feeling on any given day
  • Make updates even more engaging by including photos, emojis and links
    • Only 1 photo per post is allowed today
  • Anybody in the team can post an update, including supporters
  • Only the person who made the update can edit or delete it
    • If you change your role (e.g become an organizer from being a caregiver) please note that your past updates cannot be edited and you may need to contact us to edit or delete your past updates
    • To delete "updates" made by a member who is no longer in the team, please contact us
  • Use "alert preferences" to determine your notification preferences around updates, comments and hugs

Direct Messages

  • Direct messages are useful for contacting a subset of the team
  • Similar to updates, you can attach photos and use emojis
  • You can add more members to the conversation from the larger team anytime
    • Only existing team members can be included in a direct message conversation. If that person is not yet in the team, please invite them first
  • You will always receive a notification whenever a direct message is sent. Use "alert preferences" to determine the mode of notification
